Hi!
I’ve been a travel journalist for 20+ years, and have been priveledged and fortunate enough to write about the wonders of seeing and being in the world for some of the world’s top publications, including National Geogrpahic Traveler, AFAR, Travel + Leisure, the Saturday Evening Post, Virtuoso: The Magazine, Marriott Bonvoy Traveler, and the Best Women’s Travel Writing anthologies.
What I’ve learned through the decades is that travel is not only about how far we go or what items to check off a list. Travel is also about the magic that happens when slow down, open our minds, and connect to a place, ourselves, and each other with curiosity, respect, and kindness.
I’ve traveled to all seven continents, and, at 57, have admittedly slowed down a little. I no longer ski black diamonds and ice climbing lost its lustre long ago. But I still need to travel. I still have horizons to chase. I still want to listen to stories, share tips and insights, and tell you about my favorite places, faces, and new discoveries.
I’m putting it all here on Aging Playfully. I hope it inspires you to travel around our beautiful planet, whether you journey across an ocean or just down the road.
